Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation Los Angeles (MATRADE LA) has conducted an interview session to appoint a Malaysia Food Ambassador in the West Coast of the United States of America under the Malaysia Kitchen Program. The interview was conducted on 13 August 2012 at the Consulate General of Malaysia in Los Angeles. Dr. Wong Lai Sum, CEO MATRADE led the interview. The Consul General of Malaysia of Malaysia in Los Angeles, Mr. Nekmat Ismail was also present.
The idea of engaging a Malaysian diaspora in Los Angeles is to create opportunity for them to use their expertise to promote various Malaysian cuisines as they are the best people to understand about the Malaysian authentic foods. The Malaysia Food Ambassador will undertake and coordinate promotional activities of Malaysia Kitchen Program and at the same time to brand Malaysia.
