More than 15,000 participants comprised of the world’s brightest middle school, high school and university students from 22 countries around the world converged at the Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, California to participate at the VEX Robotics Competition World Championship from 18-20 April 2013.
A total of 700 teams participated in the competition which was dominated by the United States with 550 teams while the remainder 150 teams came from other countries such as Canada, Mexico, Colombia, New Zealand, United Kingdom and Asia (including Malaysia, Singapore, China and Korea). Malaysia was represented by teams from The Malay College Kuala Kangsar, Kolej Yayasan Saad Melaka and Institut Kemahiran Tinggi Belia Negara Sepang. The Malaysian teams were led by Ms. Ilylia Kamaruzaman, Managing Director of Robotics Learning (M) Sdn. Bhd.
The event had provided the Malaysian students the opportunity to compete with/against the best of the best in the field of robotics on a “world stage.”
