Congratulations to the Nebraska University Malaysian Students Association (NUMSA) for successfully organized the Malaysian Night 2013. With the theme ‘Rojak-Lah’, the students had been able to showcase the diversity and unique combination of Malaysia multi-cultures and ethnics.
Malaysian Night has been a dominant cultural presence in the university campus for more than 20 years and had attracted more than 400 audiences every year including university personnel, local residences as well as local and foreign students.
In 2009, NUMSA won the University of Nebraska UNL Student Impact Award for educational and entertainment programme and in 2008 the Governor of the State of Nebraska, The Honourable Dave Heineman proclaimed March 1 as Malaysia-Nebraska Educational Achievement Day.
The honoured guests for the Malaysian Night 2013 were the Consul General of Malaysia in Los Angeles, Mr. Nekmat Ismail, the Secretary of State for the State of Nebraska, The Honourable John A. Gale and the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Dr. Juan Franco and their spouses.
It was indeed an enjoyable evening filled with entertainment and programmes which fully described fascinating Malaysia.
