The Maulidur Rasul Celebration to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and to appreciate the Prophet’s teachings was organized by the Malaysian Islamic Foundation of North America (MIFNA) recently. The event was held on Saturday, 18 January 2014 at the Consul General of Malaysia’s residence in San Marino, California.
Mr. Fauzi Zainal, MIFNA’s new President in his remark said that event organized by MIFNA such as Maulidur Rasul will be part of MIFNA’s family traditions which will keep members connected not only to their Malaysian roots but more importantly towards each other, and to meet new friends.
The program started with an opening remark by Mr. Nekmat Ismail, Consul General of Malaysia in Los Angeles and also Patron of MIFNA. Other programs include recitation of verses from Surah An-Nur of the Holy Quran, nasyid presentations and Salawat. The highlighted program for this special event was a talk on Prophet Muhammad’s way of life and the Prophet’s best example for humanity given by Imam Mohammad Joban, Imam of the Islamic Center of Redwood and President of the Imam Fatwa Committee in Washington State.
