The Malaysian Islamic Foundation of North America (MIFNA) organized its 5th Annual Family Day and Fund Raising on Saturday, 3 May 2014. The event was held at the Willow Grove Reserved Picnic Site in Long Beach, California. More than 300 people attended the day-long event. Also present was the Consul General of Malaysia in Los Angeles, Mr. Nekmat Ismail who is also the Patron of MIFNA.
More than 10 ‘Warong Style’ booths were set up selling various Malaysian foods such as Satay, Soto Ayam, Ayam Percik, Goreng Pisang, Mee Hoon/Mee Goreng, Nasi Lemak, Nasi Campur, Pulut Panggang, Karipap, Frozen Malaysian food and Air Batu Campur. Perwakilan Los Angeles also participated in the food sale by setting up its 'Warong Mee Sedap Perwakilan'.
In his message, the President of MIFNA, Mr. Fauzi Zainal expressed his thanks and appreciation to the organizing committee, warong operators, volunteers, sponsors and all its members for their participation, hard work, dedication and commitments in making the event a success.
Since its establishment, MIFNA has organized many activities to foster friendships and provide opportunity for its members and Malaysians residing in Southern California to get together and to socialize.
