The Consul General of Malaysia, Mr. Nekmat Ismail and wife attended the Merdeka Celebration and Hawkers Fair organized by the Singapore-Malaysia Club San Diego in conjunction with the independence day of Malaysia and Singapore, both are in August. The event was held at the Admiral Baker Recreation Centre, San Diego, California on Sunday, 18 August 2013.
This year, the club combined the two events to showcase and celebrate the diversity of culture and food, a feature uniquely shared by Malaysia and Singapore, while raising funds to support the club operations and future events. The event had not only attended by its members but had also attracted the locals to savor both Malaysian and Singaporean food such as Nasi Campur, Satay, Rojak and Roti Canai.
