The Malaysian Investment Development Authority Los Angeles (MIDA LA) in collaboration with the Rancho Santiago Center for International Trade Development (CITD) based in Santa Ana, California had successfully co-organized the "Keeping-up with the Asian Market" monthly series program on 29 August 2012, this time featuring Malaysia with the tag-line "Doing Business in Malaysia". The program is intended to create better awareness among US companies and businesses on the opportunities available in Malaysia and to further enhance trade and investment relationship between the United States and Malaysia.
Apart from Mr. Hazli Jemaat, Director of MIDA LA and Mr. S. K. Ang, another Malaysian origin entrepreneur from Los Angeles, other speakers for the event were Ms. Jetza Torres, Director of CITD and Mr. Randall Long, lead Consultant of CITD - an expert on Asia market. All speakers had briefed the audience on trade and investment opportunities in Malaysia. Specifically, Mr. Hazli Jemaat briefed on the opportunities, facilities and rules and regulations doing business and investment in Malaysia, while Mr. S. K. Ang shared his experience doing trade and business with Malaysia from the United States. The business briefing was well attended by nearly 30 business people who wanted to know more and interested in doing business with Malaysia. The event was also supported and attended by Mr. Nekmat Ismail, Consul General of Malaysia in Los Angeles, Mrs. Nor Hayati Daud, Director of Education Malaysia Los Angeles, and Mr. Zainul Rizam Zawawi, Manager of Malaysia Airlines Los Angeles, in which all of them introduced themselves and gave a very brief remarks.
The event definitely has its success in creating awareness and interest about Malaysia and the opportunities available, and the Malaysian team in Los Angeles looks forward to continue to work together with Rancho Santiago CITD and other relevant parties for future events.
