Rose Parade, Pasadena, California

The New Year 2014 has been welcomed throughout the world with wave of celebrations. In Los Angeles, California one of the highlighted events was the Annual Tournament of Roses Parade held on January 1, 2014. It has become part of America’s New Year Celebration held in Pasadena, California every year.

The parade was in its 125th celebration and had attracted hundreds of thousands of spectators on the parade route including the Consul General of Malaysia in Los Angeles and his family to watch the floral floats, marching bands and equestrian units rolling along the Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena, California. The event was also broadcasted live on multiple television networks in the United States and several other countries.

About 45 floats participated in this year event carrying the theme “Dreams Come True” including several foreign participants such as bands from Panama and Japan, and floats from Indonesia Tourism and China Airlines.  Malaysia had so far participated twice in the event i.e. in 1987 and 1990.
