An interfaith Iftar and dinner was organized the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California on Sunday, 13 July 2014 (15 Ramadhan 1435 Hijrah). The event was held at the Double Tree Suites Hilton in Anaheim, California. More than 100 representatives from about 45 interfaith organizations and Muslim organizations based in Southern California joined the event. Few members of the Los Angeles Consular Corps including the Consul General of Malaysia in Los Angeles and family as well as local authorities were also present during the evening.
Program for the evening among others include Adhan (call for prayer), Iftar (breaking of fast), Salat al-Maghrib (sunset prayer), Quran recitations by Imam Salim Ghazaly and translation, dinner and briefing on fasting in Jewish tradition by Rabbi Frank Stern, ‘Fasting in Christian Tradition’ by Bishop Kevin Vann and ‘ Ramadhan, a Season of Reflections’ by Shura Council President, Dr. Muzammil Siddiqi.
