Tourism Malaysia Los Angeles (TMLA) hosted Friends of Malaysia Gathering among its trade industry partners from travel and media on Tuesday, 17 December 2013 at The Portofino in Redondo Beach, California. More than 80 guests attended the event. Also present were the Consul General of Malaysia in Los Angeles, Mr. Nekmat Ismail and his wife, Madam Ramlah Hamid.
During her remarks, Mrs. Azilina Azni Zainal Abidin, Vice President TMLA took the opportunity to thank the travel trade and media partners for their continuous support and contribution in 2013. Earlier in October, the Minister of Tourism and Culture Malaysia was in Los Angeles, California on his north America campaign mission’s to promote the Visit Malaysia Year 2014 (VMY 2014). The Minister’s trip also covers two other cities i.e. New York, United States of America and Vancouver, Canada. Among programs which had been arranged by Tourism Malaysia Los Angeles were launching of Tourism Malaysia Los Angeles new website, VMY 2014 Seminar, media conference and interviews, and a dinner reception. Tourism Malaysia is targeting the arrival of 248,500 tourists from the United States and around 28 million from around the world for the VMY 2014.
