The final round of the 16th World Championships of Performing Arts 2012 was held on 13 July 2012 at the California Ballroom, Westin Boonadventure Hotel, Los Angeles, California. The competition was divided into two categories i.e. junior and senior in a wide variety of competitions from singers, dancers, models, instrumentalists and variety artist. Malaysian team consisted of eleven participants led by Mr. Romli Bidin, Team Director from Creative Line Promotion. The seven days 'Olympic Style' event (7-13 July 2012) ended with Malaysia won 16 gold medals, 27 silver and 10 bronze. About 40 countries participated in this Championship which is held annually since 1997 and Malaysia has participated in the event for the past six years. Consul General of Malaysia, Mr. Nekmat Ismail and wife attended both the opening ceremony and final round of the said event.
