MANHATTAN – AUGUST 04, 2018: The Malaysian Dodgeball contigent consisting the Men’s, Women’s and Mixed teams participated in the 2018 Dodgeball World Cup Finals (DWC 2018) in New York, from the 3rd to 4thof August 2018. The final matches were held at Madison Square Garden which saw the Malaysian contingent booked their places at the quarterfinals.
The Malaysian Men’s team played particularly well as they qualified to the final beating the home team, USA at the quarterfinal and the favourite team England, at the semifinal.
Despite their valiant efforts, the Malaysian Men’s team falter at the final match against Austria, this year’s surprised package.
The Women’s and Mixed teams put in an impressive efforts to compete against other teams.
The Consul General of Malaysia, Mr. Jeremiah Oliver Jitos and the Consul, Mr. Tham Whye Long were present along with other Malaysians residing in New York to cheer and lending their support to Malaysian contingent.
Earlier, on 3rd August 2018, the President of Malaysian Dodgeball Federation, YB Datuk Wira Hajjah Ermiyati and members of the federation paid a courtesy call on the Consul General.
