Dinner in honor of Y.B. Datuk Anifah Haji Aman, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia in conjunction with his visit to New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly, 21 Sept-1 Oct 2009
The Consulate General of Malaysia in New York organized a dinner on Saturday, September 26th, hosted by the Honorable Datuk Anifah Haji Aman, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia for representatives of the Malaysian community in New York. The Honorable Minister and his entourage were in town to attend the 64th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
About 120 invitees consisting of Malaysians working in the United States and students showed up for the dinner. Also present were Tan Sri Rastam Mohd Isa, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, YB Dato’ Sri Dr. Jamaluddin Jarjis, Ambassador of Malaysia to the United States, TYT Datuk Hamidon Ali, Permanent Representative of Malaysia to the United Nations and Mr. Zamruni Khalid, Consul General of Malaysia in New York, accompanied by their respective wives. Two members of Parliament, YB Tuan Raime Unggi and YB Hajah Nancy Shukri, who accompanied the Honorable Minister also attended the dinner.
The Honorable Minister delivered his remarks by calling on all Malaysians to preserve unity to ensure the stability of the country. He also responded to several questions by the audience at the end of the event.
