The Consulate General of Malaysia, New York and with the collaboration of Tourism Malaysia in New York will host a “Malaysia Kitchen and Cultural Performance” on Tuesday, June 3, 2008.  It will be held at the Japan Society building located on 333 East 47 St.

The event is a continuous effort on the part of the Consulate to promote Malaysia’s food, handicrafts and agricultural products while at the same time attracting travelers to visit Malaysia as a safe, attractive and value for money tourist destination.

More than 250 people including those in the banking and financial institutions, hotels, tour and travel operators, airlines, academias, NGO’s, print media’s and local community TV stations have been invited to the event.

There is tremendous potential for Malaysian food to make greater in road in New York. Malaysian food has its own unique attraction because of its multi-cultural blend from which it derived its varieties.  It is hope that with this introduction there is greater awareness on Malaysian cuisine and culture in New York.
