Visit of the Honorable Prime Minister of Malaysia, 22-24 November 2009
Y.A.B Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia made a two-day visit to New York en route to Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago to attend the CHOGM.
In New York, the Prime Minister accompanied by his wife, Datin Sri Rosmah Mansor hosted a dinner for Malaysians on Monday, 23rd December 2009. The dinner was held at the Metropolitan Club, New York attended by more than 300 Malaysians including students, officials and delegation members. Also present, were Y.B Dato’ Sri Dr. Jamaluddin Jarjis, Ambassador of Malaysia to the United States, Datuk Hamidon Ali, Pemanent Representative of Malaysia to the United Nations (UN), Mr. Zamruni Khalid, Consul General of Malaysia in New York and their spouses. In his speech, the Prime Minister called on all Malaysians to continue to promote Malaysia to generate better economic perspective and invited them to work with him to achieve his aspirations of 1Malaysia.
This was the first visit of Y.A.B Dato’ Sri Najib to New York as the Prime Minister.
