On 8-9 April 2023, The Embassy of Malaysia and its Islamic Welfare Association (BAKIS) welcomed friends and family at the Embassy for a two-day Bazaar Ramadan and an Iftar Get-Together. About 200 Malaysians from the DMV (Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia) area made the time to be “home” for delicious Malaysian food and a meaningful berbuka puasa.
Bringing the Malaysian Ramadan tradition to D.C., a gotong royong was held in preparing Bubur Lambuk which was later distributed during the Iftar gathering on 9 April 2023. More than the gathering serves as the Embassy's active public diplomacy efforts, it was mostly a weekend of goodwill, community and friendship - a true reflection of Malaysia MADANI in Washington D.C.
