25 May 2018, WASHINGTON DC : The Badan Kebajikan Islam (BAKIS) Washington DC organized a Bubur Lambuk Program in conjunction with the fasting month. Embassy staff had started preparing the bubur lambuk as early as 10.30am and after productive gotong-royong session to cook the porridge, they began distributing tupperwares of the savory delicacy at 3.00pm. The event was carried out with the collective effort and contribution of all staff. More than 160 tupperwares of bubur lambuk were distributed to all Embassy staff and the Malaysian diaspora in Washington DC as well as to Embassies celebrating Ramadhan in the surrounding area, namely the Embassy of Pakistan, the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates and the Embassy of Egypt. We also collaborated with Malaysia-based TV Al Hijrah to showcase the Embassy’s activities during Ramadhan under the Bubur Lambuk International TV episode. An episode of the Embassy’s participation was screened on TV Al Hijrah on 5th June at 5.45pm & 6.55pm.
