21 June, Washington D.C. : Young professionals in Washington D.C., had the opportunity to experience Malaysia’s rich culture and tradition when the Embassy opened its doors to Things To Do D.C. - a social, networking and cultural society for young American professionals. The program called “ An Evening at the Embassy of Malaysia” was hosted by H.E. Dato’ Azmil Zabidi and was attended by almost 100 people. The event showcased Malaysia’s tasty and famous Malaysian delicacies served from hawker stalls to emulate the atmosphere back home, while the dishes were specially prepared by Malaysians, influenced by the multi-ethnic composition of Malaysia. There were also promotional booths to promote local products, handicrafts and material manned by PERWAKILAN, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Malaysian Palm Oil Board and Education Malaysia. The most popular booth was MOA, serving samples of Musang King Durian - to those brave enough to try it! The audience also thoroughly enjoyed the performance by in-house dance troupe Gemala Sitra, made up of the children of Embassy staff.
