The Right Honorable Tun Zaki Tun Azmi, Chief Justice of Malaysia, held an official visit to Washington, D.C. from 1 to 2 July 2010. He led a 10-member delegation which was comprised of judges as well as members of the Judicial Appointments Commission. Among those accompanying the Right Honorable Chief Justice was the Right Honorable Tan Sri Arifin Zakaria, Chief Judge of Malaya, former Chief Justice YABhg. Tun Abdul Hamid Mohamad and former Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak YBhg. Tan Sri Steve Shim Lip Kiong. The objective of the visit was to explore possible areas of cooperation between the Malaysian and U.S. judiciary. The visit included meetings with the following institutions and agencies: the U.S. Supreme Court, Department of Justice, Federal Judicial Center, the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts as well as visits to the D.C. District Courts and U.S. Court of Appeals and the American Bar Association.
