YAB Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, will be on an official visit to Washington, D.C. from 13 to 14 January 2011. A number of meetings have been scheduled for the visit, including with the following senior officials from the U.S. Government: the Honorable Hillary Rodham Clinton, Secretary of State; the Honorable Arne Duncun, Secretary of Education; and Senator Jim Webb, Chairman of the Subcommittee on East Asian and Pacific Affairs. The Deputy Prime Minister will be accompanied by the Director-General of MIDA, the Deputy Secretary General (I) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as senior officials from the Deputy Prime Minister's Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
YAB DPM will also be launch the Malaysian Biotechnology Entrepreneurship Special Training (myBeST) Program as well as meet Malaysian school students participating in American Field Service - Youth Exchange & Study (AFS-YES) Programme and will have a lunch hosted in his honour by the U.S.-ASEAN Business Council (USABC). Prior to the Washington leg of the visit, YAB Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will be meeting with the Malaysian community and students in Boston, Massachusetts.
