52ND ANNIVERSARY OF NATIONAL DAY OF MALAYSIA RECEPTION ON 25TH SEPTEMBER, 2009 AT TASHKENT PALACE HOTEL AT 6.30 PM

The Embassy of Malaysia in Tashkent hosted the 52nd Anniversary of National Day of Malaysia took place on 25th September, 2009 at Tashkent Palace Hotel, Tashkent at 6.30 pm.  The reception was attended by about 250 guests.  His Excellency Mr. Aripov Abdulla Nigmatovich, Deputy Prime Minister of Republic of Uzbekistan responsible for Development of Communication and Information Technologies represented the government of the Republic of Uzbekistan to grace the reception.  The reception was also attended by H.E. Mr. Salikhbaev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Ambassadors, Heads of Diplomatic Mission and International Organizations, senior government officials, academician, businessmen, friends of Malaysia, ex-MTCP participants, fellow Malaysian and others.

 

2.         After the speech, both Ambassador Abdul Aziz together with H.E. Aripov Abdulla Nigmatovich, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan were proceeded with the cake cutting ceremony.  The flags of Malaysia and Uzbekistan were appeared on the cake symbolise the close cooperation between the two countries.

 

3.         After the cake cutting ceremony, all of the guests were invited to taste the local foods which were prepared by the hotel.  These include Uzbekistan special rice, roasted lamb, chicken kebab and others. 

 

4.         All of the guests were later entertained with Malaysian and Uzbekistan songs and dances performances by “Uzbegim Yoshlari” Youth Ensemble.  This group have a close relations with Malaysia and the Embassy as they had visited Malaysia three times in 2007, 2008 and this year (2009).  The group have participated in International Rain Forest Festival in Kuching in 2007, Melaka International Drum Festival in 2008 and 2009.  During the National Day reception, the group was applauded by the audience when the artist of the group sang Malaysia famous song “Cindai” and “Intifidah”.  Apart of that, they also perform the “Sarawak Traditional Dance” and “Zapin Johor Dance”. 

 

5.         In general the 52nd National Day reception which was held on 25th September, 2009 at Tashkent Palace Hotel recently has meets its objective and promotes the good image of Malaysia especially in Uzbekistan.
