Her Excellency Senator Datuk Doris Sophia Brodi, Deputy President of Senate, Parliament of Malaysia led the main Malaysian delegation to observe the Uzbekistan Presidential Election which took place on 29 March 2015. Joined the delegation were four other Senators from the House of Senate, Parliament Malaysia. The delegation stayed in Tashkent from 27 March – 1 April 2015.
While in Tashkent, Her Excellency Senator met with several important figures in Uzbekistan including her counterpart, Her Excellency Svetlana Artikova, Deputy President of Senate of Uzbekistan and His Excellency Mirzo Ulugbek Abdusalomov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan.
The delegation was also brought to visit the ancient city of Samarkand where they visited many historical places such as Amir Temur Mausoleum, Registan Square, Mirzo Ulugbek Observatory and Imam Bukhari Complex.
Other delegations from Malaysia who were also invited to observe the Presidential Election were the Election Commission of Malaysia, the Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute (ASLI), Binary University and the Malaysia – Uzbekistan Friendship Association.
