The Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) hosted a business networking dinner on 20 April 2018 at Allegro Restaurant, International Hotel, Tashkent. The event was part of MPOC’s market visit to Uzbekistan in which MPOC officials from Pakistan and Malaysia visited Tashkent and Samarkand to meet with leading manufacturers in the confectionary and food industry. The objective of this visit was to further expand the usage of palm oil in the food sector of Uzbekistan and to increasethe awareness of nutritional and functional attributes of palm oil in various food applications.
Representatives of the Embassy of Malaysia in Uzbekistan were also present at the dinner and interacted with the importers and traders of Malaysian palm oil. Mr Faisal Iqbal, Regional Manager, MPOC gave the opening remarks and shared his views on the role of Malaysian palm oil in the global oils and fats market and the importance of Uzbekistan as a key market for Malaysia in the Central Asian Region.
