MOHEX in Tashkent, 16 - 17 April, 2008

The Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia (MOHE) with several Malaysian universities and colleges had successfully organized Malaysia’s 2^nd Education Fair in Tashkent, Uzbekistan from 16-17 April, 2008; - the 1^st was held back in November 2007.  The participating universities and colleges were UKM, UM, UTM, UPM, UNITAR, University of Nottingham Malaysia, Sunway University College, APIIT, Kolej SEGi, KDU and KBU.  The aim of the exhibition was to familiarize the locals with Malaysian higher learning institutions (Malaysian universities and colleges) as well as paving the way for a better cooperation between Malaysia and Uzbekistan in the field of education.  The Malaysia Education Exhibition was described by the Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of Uzbekistan (MHSSE), H.E. Mr. Mukhidinov, as successful and very promising.  More than 1,000 people attended the fair – amongst them were college students and teachers.  Currently, UNITAR is in discussions with the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of Uzbekistan to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) – hopefully by the end of this year (2008).
