OFFICIAL VISIT OF Y.B. TAN SRI DATUK SERI UTAMA PANDIKAR AMIN HJ. MULIA,
SPEAKER OF HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVE OF PARLIAMENT OF MALAYSIA TO REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN, 19 – 21 MAY 2009
Y.B. Tan Sri Datuk Seri Utama Pandikar Amin Hj. Mulia, the Speaker of House of Representative of the Parliament of Malaysia was on an official visit to Republic of Uzbekistan on 19 to 21 May, 2009. Y.B. Tan Sri Datuk Seri Utama Pandikar Amin Hj. Mulia official visit to Republic of Uzbekistan is on the invitation by H.E. Mrs. Dilorom G. Tashmuhammedova, Speaker of Oily Majlis (Parliament of Republic of Uzbekistan).
2. Y.B. Tan Sri Datuk Seri Utama Pandikar Amin during the visit to Uzbekistan was accompanied by his wife, Puan Sri Teng Choy Ngan @ Hadijah Teng Abdullah and 9 other delegation members consist of 5 members of Dewan Rakyat and Senior officials of the Malaysian Parliament.
3. During Y.B. Tan Sri Datuk Seri Utama Pandikar Amin Hj. Mulia official visit to Republic of Uzbekistan, Y.B. Tan Sri Datuk Seri Utama Pandikar Amin Hj. Mulia and his official delegation attended a meeting at Oily Majlis on 20 May, 2009. Both Malaysian and Uzbekistan Parliamentarian delegation discussed on broad areas of cooperation between Malaysia and Uzbekistan i.e. in the field of politics, economic, social, education and cultural. The meeting also touched on the possible close cooperation between Parliament of Malaysia and Uzbekistan Oily Majlis and its members for mutual benefit.
4. In the evening of 20 May, 2009, H.E. Mrs. Dilorom G. Tashmuhammedova, Speaker of Oily Majlis of Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a dinner to Y.B. Tan Sri Datuk Seri Utama Pandikar Amin Hj. Mulia and delegation at Tashkent Intercontinental Hotel.
5. The Malaysian delegation also was given an opportunity to visit the Amir Temur Meseum and Hazrati Imam complex in Tashkent. Ambassador Abdul Aziz Harun also hosted a dinner to Y.B. Tan Sri Datuk Seri Utama Pandikar Amin Hj. Mulia and his delegation at official residence on 19 May, 2009.
6. Y.B. Tan Sri Datuk Seri Utama Pandikar Amin Hj. Mulia and delegation departed Tashkent for Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic on 21 May, 209 in order to continue his official visit to Kyrgyz Republic between 21 – 25 May, 2009.
7. Y.B. Tan Sri Datuk Seri Utama Pandikar Amin Hj. Mulia and delegation’s visit to Republic of Uzbekistan from 19 – 21 May, 2009 has contributed to further enhancing close bilateral cooperation between the countries and also between the Parliaments of the two countries.
