The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan organized the 7th Annual Cultural Traditions and Food Festival for the representatives of the Diplomatic Corp in Tashkent on 24-25th April 2010. The VIII Annual Cultural Traditions and Food Festival were attended by representatives of the foreign Embassies accredited in the Republic of Uzbekistan. On the first day of the festival the most of the Embassies which had expressed their interest in organizing their stalls were allocated plots of land in the yard of the Reception House Complex of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan . On the second day of the festival representatives of the Diplomatic Corp were invited to the Uzbek Dramatic Theatre in Tashkent for the cultural performances prepared by representatives of Diplomatic Corp in Tashkent .
2. Spouses of the heads of mission in Tashkent were elected as the jury to identify the winners of the festival. The event was also attended by H.E. Abdul Aziz Kamilov, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan .
3. Since the VIII Annual Cultural Traditions and Food Festival was a charity event, all the money collected by the respective Embassies during the food festival was donated to the charity fund which would be handed over to the orphanages in Tashkent city.
4. The Embassy of Malaysia also participated in the VIII Annual Cultural Traditions and Food Festival and was allocated a space to arrange and display not only the Malaysians dishes and delicacies but also its promotional tourism materials. All the staff of the Embassy and their family members was mobilized to ensure the successful participation of the Embassy in the festival.
