CAR BOMB IN KAYSERI, TURKEY
The Government of Malaysia condemns the attack that occurred at the city of Kayseri, located 322 km from Ankara, Turkey on 17 December 2016. In this instance, a car bomb was used to kill 13 people and injure 55 others.
The Government of Malaysia extends its condolences to the Government and people of the Republic of Turkey, particularly to the family members of the victims affected by the attack. Malaysia hopes the perpetrators will soon be brought to justice.
The Malaysian Embassy in Ankara has confirmed that no Malaysians were affected by the bomb attack. The Embassy is also in close contact with the Turkish authorities and Malaysians, including the Malaysian students in Kayseri.
The Ministry wishes to remind all Malaysians to be vigilant at all times. Malaysians are also advised to refer to the safety guidelines posted on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia.
