TURKEY MILITARY COUP

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to confirm that there was an attempted coup by elements of Turkish military since Friday night, 15 July 2016.

The Embassy of Malaysia in Ankara informed that there are about 260 Malaysians in Turkey, including 180 students. The Embassy has been in contact with the Malaysians there and all of them are reported to be safe.

Malaysians requiring consular assistance due to the abovementioned incident may contact the Embassy of Malaysia in Ankara, or Operation Room, Wisma Putra, as follows:
