WILDFIRE IN VENTURA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
Wildfires reported in the Southern part of California in the United States beginning on 4 December 2017 evening has since spread and burnt almost 65,000 acres of land. No Malaysians were reportedly involved in the incident.
The fire, known as Thomas Fire has destroyed at least 150 buildings. More than 46,000 residents were affected and have been evacuated by local authorities. On 5 December 2017, the Mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Gracetti has declared a state of emergency to enable emergency services to be extended to all affected areas.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs conveys its sympathies to the victims of this incident.
