WORKING VISIT OF YB DATO’ SRI ANIFAH AMAN,
TO BANGKOK, THAILAND FOR THE 21ST ASEAN-EU MINISTERIAL MEETING

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Malaysia, YB Dato’ Sri Anifah Aman, is leading the Malaysian delegation to the 21st ASEAN-EU Ministerial Meeting (21st AEMM), currently taking place in Bangkok, Thailand from 13 to 14 October 2016. YB Dato’ Sri Anifah Aman will be accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The biennial meeting will discuss and chart the future direction of the ASEAN–EU Dialogue Relations as the two entities work towards elevating the partnership to a strategic level. The meeting is also conducted to prepare for the commemoration of the 40th Anniversary of ASEAN-EU in 2017.
The Meeting is expected to deliver two outcome documents, which are the “Bangkok Declaration on Promoting a People-Oriented, People-Centred ASEAN-EU Partnership for Shared Strategic Goals” and the “Bangkok Roadmap for Elevating the ASEAN-EU Enhanced Partnership to a Strategic Level (2016-2017)”. The Meeting will also provide the opportunity for both sides to exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
YB Dato’ Sri Anifah Aman is expected to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from the EU member states on the side lines of the 21st AEMM to discuss issues of common interest.
