Mr. Chairman, Excellencies and Distinguished Delegates,
1. Malaysia commends the unwavering commitment and exceptional work carried out by UNRWA. UNRWA remains the lifeline for the Palestinian refugees in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, as well as in Jordan, Lebanon and Syria.
2. Malaysia will continue to support the mandate of UNRWA in providing assistance and protection to Palestinian refugees.
3. UN Member States must uphold their responsibility to support the work of UNRWA, and in ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of vital humanitarian aid in Gaza. Malaysia will continue to work together with partners such as Jordan and Egypt, as well as NGOs in this regard.
4. Through the Humanitarian Trust Fund for the People of Palestine, Malaysia has contributed USD 17 million worth of financial and humanitarian aid to Palestine since 2024.
5. We will continue to support with funding and I am pleased to announce that Malaysia will support additional USD 25 million in humanitarian aid and for the reconstruction of Gaza, as a sign of our continuous commitment to support the Palestinians.
6. We stand ready to cooperate with the UN and Like - Minded Countries in collective efforts to improve the supply of humanitarian aid, as well as towards the rebuilding and reconstruction of Gaza in the future.
