Dubai International Wood & Wood Machinery Show (Dubai WoodShow 2017)
The Dubai Wood Show was held from 7 to 9 March 2017 and featured 278 exhibitors (308 in 2016) from 42 countries (38 in 2016). Malaysian Timber Council (MTC) together with Segamat Panel Boards Sdn. Bhd., Bunga Raya Panel Products Sdn. Bhd., Globetech JSM Sdn. Bhd., Pioneer OSB Sdn. Bhd.,Wajahat and Partners Sdn. Bhd. and Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation participated in the event.
MTC Dubai received 60 trade enquiries for various timber products from the Middle East, other Arab speaking countries, North African countries and other parts of the world. MTC booth also received quality trade visitors comprising of importers, interior designers, joinery workshops, carpentries and contracting companies.
Even though there was a decrease in the number of exhibitors this year, but the show still proves to be a great platform for suppliers, manufacturers & machinery companies to showcase their products, innovative technologies and large scale machinery. Exhibitors showcased multitude of products from various timber and woodworking sectors. The timber species promoted includes European Beech, Swedish Pine, American hardwoods & softwoods, African species as well as from Malaysia.
The fair is a good avenue for Malaysian companies to exhibition the product and services in the region to further strengthen their business relationship and widen their clientele base. It could be a useful venue for Malaysian companies seeking to enter the Gulf market for the first time to establish contacts with the building and construction industry.
