The CIMB Bank based in Bahrain has been awarded three awards at the Islamic Finance News Gala Award Ceremony on 28 February 2011 in Dubai. The three awards given to CIMB Bank: Best Islamic Innovative Bank; Best Overall Islamic Bank and Best Islamic Fund Manager.
Islamic Finance News is the industry's leading financil markets focused e-newsletter. Those polled include finance institutions, issuers, investors and government bodies from around the world. A total of 1,956 votes were cast last year. Of these, 450 were disqualified due to irregularities discovered during the diligence process. Mission has been advised that 1,506 votes counted towards the 2010 results.
The CEO of CIMB Bank, Bahrain Mr. Suryono Darnor was present at the ceremony to receive all the three awards. Amb. Dato Yahaya Jabar and Consul General of Malaysia in Dubai, Mr. Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin were also present at the award ceremony.
