MALAYSIAN REPRESENTATIVE AT THE DUBAI INTERNATIONAL HOLY QURAN AWARD 2016
Malaysian representative, Mohamad Omar bin Mansu, a student at the Insaniah University College, Kedah was in Dubai recently represented Malaysia at the Dubai International Holy Quran Award 2016. The event was held at the Dubai Chamber, UAE from 6 – 25 June 2016. The finals and prize presentation was done on 25 June 2016. Mohamad Omar bin Mansu got consolation prize after he was seated 16th overall.
This year was the 20th anniversary for the Dubai International Holy Quran Award. Approximately 91 participants from 91 countries took part in the event. The four main contested categories are Anugerah Al-Quran Antarabangsa, Anugerah Al-Quran – Sheikah Hind bint Maktoum, Anugerah Bacaan Terbaik and Anugerah Hafazan Emarati.
The officiating ceremony were attended by H.E. Dato’ Ahmad Anwar Adnan, Ambassador of Malaysia to the UAE, H.E. Yubazlan Yusof, Consul General of Malaysia to the UAE and Mr. Mohd Norsyam Abdul Rahman, Vice Consul Education Malaysia.
Mohamad Omar bin Mansu while in Dubai took part in several programmes such as Ihya Ramadhan Programme organised by the Consulate General of Malaysia, Dubai together with Malaysian Association in the UAE (MY-UAE) on 10 and 17 June 2016.
