Birth/Marriage Registration

 

A.  REGISTRATION OF BIRTH

 

                                             
  1. Children who born in Argentina can be registered at Embassy of Malaysian, in Buenos Aires based on the following requirements and documents:

 

                                             

              a)    Father of the child is a Malaysian Citizen

 

 

              b)    Registration is made within one year from the date of birth

 

              c)    Passports of parents 

 

 

              d)    Identification Cards of both parents.  

                               

                     (If the mother is not Malaysian Citizen then her passport will be used as an identity)

 

              e)    Malaysian or Argentinean Marriage Certificate

                           

              f)    Birth Certificates of  both parents 

                               

              g)   Child Argentina birth certificate

                               

              h)   Two (2) passport size photographs 

                               
                                             
  1. Register your child by appear in person at the Embassy of Malaysia, Buenos Aires:  

(Original and 2 Copies) 

 

                                             
  1. Forms are provided by the Consular Section of the Embassy.
                           
                                             

IMPORTANT

                                       
                                             

New instruction by National Registration Department of Malaysia (JPN), parent(s) must bring their newborn child to the Embassy of Malaysia to register.

 

 

                                             

Note:

                                         

 

"Borang W" (Malaysian Birth Certificate Overseas) will be issued by Embassy of Malaysia, Buenos Aires. A copy will be sent to the National Registration Department of Malaysia for record purposes.

 

                                             

"Borang D" must be signed only by the father.  Mother’s signature is not acceptable; "Borang D" will be given upon registration at the Consular Section.

 

 

                                             

For Late Registration

 

 

                                             
  1. For registration made beyond the period of one (1) year after the birth, the above requirement still applies.  The application will be forwarded to Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara Malaysia for processing and approval.

 

                                             
  1. A letter from the father explaining the reason for the delay in registering is required. 
 

 

                                             
                                             

B.  REGISTRATION OF MARRIAGE 

 

 

                                             

 The married couple is required to appear in person when submitting the application form. 

 

 

                                             

             

Under (Marriage and Divorce Act 1976 of Malaysia) Malaysian residing in Argentina are required to register their marriage at any Malaysian mission on the conditions:    

       
 

-     At least one of the couple is a Malaysian

                             
 

-     Register the marriage with the Embassy within the period of six  (6) months  from  the

      date of marriage.

 

 

      

                             
 

For your marriage to be legally recognized in Malaysia, you MUST register your marriage with the Embassy. To register, both husband and wife must come to the Embassy together with the original and 2 sets of photocopies of the following: 

 

                                             
 

     -     Malaysian passports 

 

 

     -     Malaysian Identity Card (MyKad)

 

 

     -     Argentina Marriage Certificate (and Divorce Certificate) if applicable

 

 

     -     Two (2) passport size photographs (recent)

                             
 

     -     Sufficient Postage stamps to mail the marriage certificate to you  

 

 

 

     -     Registration fee is  RM 10.00  for first 6 months

                             
                                             
 

*Penalty charges will be imposed for late registration

                           
                                             
 

Registration will be processed by the Embassy and two (2) copies of the Malaysian Marriage Certificate (original and a photocopy copy) will be issued to the couple.  

 

 

                                             
 

Note: All marriages performed in the Islamic Religious Rights do not need to register their marriage with Embassy of Malaysia. Marriage registration can be done in Malaysia at any Registration Department, but all Marriage Certificate issued in the Argentina must first be certified by the Embassy. Marriage Certificate from another country must be certified by the respective country’s Embassy, Consulate or Foreign Ministry in the Argentina.
