H.E. Dato’ Mohd Khalid Abbasi Abdul Razak, Ambassador of Malaysia attended the First Meeting of ASEAN Group in Buenos Aires for 2017 which was held at the Embassy of Vietnam on 27 March 2017. The meeting was hosted by H.E. Nguyen Thou, Ambassador of Viet Nam and was also attended by Ambassador Amelita (Philippines), Ambassador Narisroj Fuangrabil (Thailand) and Ambassador Johnny Sinaga (Indonesia).
Among the main agenda of the meeting was to deliberate on the programs of activities that was undertaken in 2016, to review new programs of activities for 2017 especially the commemoration the 50th anniversary of ASEAN and handing over of the group chairmanship from Viet Nam to Thailand. Under the able chairmanship of Viet Nam there were several events that been successfully undertaken last year i.e. ASEAN Day, ASEAN Festival and Bazaar. Ambassador of Viet Nam thanked all ASEAN Ambassadors for their full support and assistance to raise the profile of the ASEAN-Argentina relations and also to promote better awareness of ASEAN in Argentina. The meeting was concluded by a lunch hosted by the Ambassador of Indonesia at de Puerto Madero.
