The Second Working group Meeting on People Smuggling and Trafficking in Persons was held in Sydney, Australia from 24-25 February 2010. The second meeting was a continuation of the First Working Group Meeting that took place in Kuala Lumpur on 26-27 August 2009. The purpose of the second meeting is to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries and to determine the next steps of bialteral cooperation encompassing operational, legal and policy issues.
The Meeting was officiated by the Hon. Brendan O'Connor MP, Minister for Home Affairs and was co-charied between YB Datuk Wira Abu Seman, Deputy Minister for Home Affairs and his Australian counterpart, Mr. Duncan Lewis, National Security Advisor.
