TRANSLATION OF MALAYSIAN DOCUMENTS
TRANSLATION OF DRIVING LICENSE
To apply for an Australian Driving Licence, you may be required by the RTA to supply a translation of your Malaysian licence.
(1) In Person:-
Appointment days: Monday to Thursday
Appointment Time: 9:00am to 10:00am
Collection of Document: The same day after 3:00pm
Document Required:
- Driving Licence (original and copy)
- Identity Card (original and copy)
- Passport (original and copy)
- Student Card for student (original and 1 copy)
- Write a letter of request to Malaysian High Commission to translate your driving license and state your address and contact nos. in Australia in the letter.
- Fee AUD 5.00 per translation. No charges for student. Kindly include a certified copy of your student ID.
(2) By Mail:-
Document Required:
- Driving Licence (certified copy)
- Identity Card (certified copy)
- Passport (certified copy)
- Student Card for student (certified copy)
- Write a letter of request to Malaysian High Commission to translate your driving license and state your address and contact nos. in Australia in the letter.
- Fee AUD 5.00 per translation by way of Money Order payable to Malaysian High Commission.
- Please enclose a self-addressed Prepaid Registered Post envelope for the High Commission to send the translation to you.
Processing time of approximately 7 working days.
TRANSLATION OF BIRTH/MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE
The High Commission can only provide unofficial translation of documents. If official translation is required by the Australian government for immigration matters e.g., PR, Visa, etc., translation must be done by NAATI accredited certified translator, not the High Commission.
Unofficial translation by the High Commission can be made by:-
(1) In person:-
Appointment days: Monday to Thursday
Appointment Time: 9:00am to 10:00am
Collection of Document: The same day after 3:00pm
Application Time: Arrive before 10:00am
Collection Time: After 3:00pm
Fee: AUD 10.00
(2) By Mail:-
Processing time of approximately 7 working days.
Send a certified copy of the certificate.
Money Order made out to Malaysian High Commission.
Use a self return address Registered Post envelope for the reply.
