AUSTRALIA-MALAYSIA INSTITUTE (AMI) YOUNG POLITICAL LEADERS VISIT

The Australian-Malaysia Institute or widely known as AMI that works to strengthen people-to-people and institutional links between Malaysia and Australia hosted a working visit for three young Malaysian political leaders to Melbourne, Australia from 27 till 29 May 2014. The politicians were YB Hannah Yeoh, YB Shahrum Mohd Sharif and YB Nik Nazmi. During their working visit to Melbourne, Australia (they also visited Canberra and Perth) they had meetings and talks with Hon Peter Walsh (Victorian Minister for Agriculture and Food Security); Professor Pip Nicholson of the Asian Law Centre; and Mr Chin Tan of the Victorian Multicultural Commission. They will also be interviewed by the Australian Broadcasting Commission (ABC) and by the Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) on Thursday, 29th May 2014. The Consul General of Malaysia hosted a working lunch for them at the Marriott Hotel and engaged with them on issues pertaining to Malaysians in Melbourne this afternoon (Wednesday, 28/5/2014).
