The China Bar Signature Restaurants are owned by three Malaysians (from Melaka, Ipoh and Penang). The restaurant is currently promoting the Malaysian Food Festival in conjunction with the Malaysia Merdeka Day on the 31st August 2013. Dato’ Dr Mohamad Rameez Yahaya, the Consul General of Malaysia to the State of Victoria was invited to officiate the one month event yesterday at the China Bar Signature Restaurant, located at 380 Burwood Highway, Burwood East, one of the two China Bar Signature Restaurants in Melbourne(the other restaurant is located at China Town Melbourne). During his speech, Dato’ Dr Rameez mentioned the fact that Malaysia’s multicultural cuisines and tourist destinations are appreciated worldwide, and is a crucial testament that Malaysia’s colourful culture is a positive and powerful brand for the country. The event, which commenced at 5.40 after iftar, ended at about 7.30 pm with a Kompang Performance by a group of Malaysian students.
The Malaysian Food Festival (from 1st August till 31 August 2013) will see China Bar promoting Malaysia’s favourite cuisines like Assam Prawn, Deep Fried Kapitan Crabs, Satay, Nasi Lemak, Rojak, Roti Canai, Murtabak and much more. The fact that we can have access to these cuisines here in Melbourne is a testament that our rich culinary culture is mutually appreciated through-out the world.
