The Committee for Economic Development of Australia or commonly known as CEDA held a Luncheon Talk today (Tuesday, 27/5/2014) at Ballroom 1&2 of the Hilton on the Park Hotel. The talk commenced at 11.45 am and ended at about 2.15 pm and was attended by more than 200 attendees, comprising representatives from ANZ, Deloitte, KPMG, Pitt&Sherry, Allens and Linklaters. Few members of the Consular Corps from India, Japan, China and CG Malaysia were invited as guests of Ambassador John Richardson, State Director of Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT)-Victoria. The event with the theme ‘National Agribusiness Series: Policy and Strategy to Guide Victorian Agribusiness’ started off with welcoming remarks made by Michael Camilleri, State Director of CEDA, followed by presentations from Grame Ford (CEO of Victorian Farmers Federation); Chris Mara (Government Relations Manager of the Coles Group); and James Flintoft (Deputy Secretary of the Victorian Department of Environment and Primary Industries). The gist of the presentations was to ensure that Victorian agribusinesses move forward and improve, and also to make Australia the main food bowl/provider for Asian nations.
