FIESTA MALAYSIA 2012 IN MELBOURNE (THE THEME- EMBRACING THE COLOURS)

Fiesta Malaysia 2012 which was organised by Malaysian Student’s Council of Australia, Victoria is one of the most existing Malaysia cultural events held in Melbourne each year ever since 2006. This three-day event is being held at Argyle Square, Lygon Street, Carlton, Melbourne. Today, the event is officiated by both the Deputy Lord Mayor of Melbourne, Ms Susan Riley and Consul General Dr Rameez. YAB Lim Guan Eng was also among the audiences who attended the officiating event and joined Deputy Mayor and Dr Rameez in cutting the ribbon that symbolised the commencement of the event.

 

The ceremony also saw guests and VVIPs walking along the different food stalls set up for the Fiesta. They were also offered to taste the satay, char koay teow, nasi lemak and roti canai served at the stalls. YAB Lim Guan Eng also took the opportunity to invite the Deputy Lord Mayor to visit Penang, Malaysia. There is a talk that Penang will want to set up a twin city programme with the city of Melbourne.
