Dr Rameez hosted a lunch in honour of ASEAN senior diplomats in Melbourne on Wednesday, 13/6/2012. There are currently only four ASEAN senior diplomats (Consul General/Honorary Consul General) based in Melbourne, Victoria. Mr. Irmawan Emir (Consul General of Indonesia), Dr Simon Wallace(Honorary Consul General of Thailand), and Ms Virgina Kalong(Honorary Consul General of the Philippines) attended the first ASEAN meeting/lunch at the Madam Kay Platz Restaurant, CBD. Among topic of discussions during the said meeting/lunch were:- to enhance further relations among the ASEAN consular corps in Melbourne by arranging a meeting every month; to ensure that any news pertaining to ASEAN be disseminated and shared among them; and to encourage sport/cultural activities among members. Members also commended Dr Rameez for the intiative in bringing them together for the event.
