The Melbourne International Comedy Festival (MICF) is the largest cultural event in Australia and has been a happening event ever since it first started in 1987. It takes place annually in Melbourne over a one month period. This year, the opening was held yesterday night (28/3/2012). For the first time, Malaysia took part in this Festival. It was the first ever internationally touring showcase of Malaysia comedy in Melbourne, and the project was supported by the Australia-Malaysia Institute of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The Best of Comedy-Malaysia saw Harith Iskander, Douglas Lim and Kuah Jehan performing at the Melbourne Town Hall. There were as many as 200 guests attending this hilarious seventy-five minutes event. Consul General Dr Rameez was the special guest.
