An Austrade/AMBC-Victoria Tele-Conferencing Event was held this afternoon (Thursday, 28/11/2013 from 12 till 2.30pm) at the Austrade Office located at Level 31, 140 William Street, Melbourne CBD. The teleseminar saw the participation of Joel Blackwell, Assistant Trade Commissioner of Austrade in Kuala Lumpur and his team of Austrade managers in tele-conference with AMBC-Victoria members and Dato’ Dr Rameez, the Consul General of Malaysia in Melbourne. Among issues discussed were:- the effectiveness of the MAFTA; doing businesses and investing in Malaysia; feedback on the Victoria Super Trade Mission in Kuala Lumpur this year; the implementation of the GST in Malaysia; and collaboration in the education and legal sectors in Malaysia. The meeting was jointly hosted by Mr Stuart Ress, Assistant State Director of Australian Trade Commission in Victoria & Tasmania, as well as Mr Joe Perri, President of the AMBC- Victoria. More than 15 people were involved including Ian Sutter from Cox Architecture and Felix Wong of SovranCapital Investments.
