ASEAN Committee of Permanent Representatives is currently in Melbourne attending to meetings organised by the Victorian government in conjunction with the 40th Anniversary of ASEAN-Australia Relations. Among them is Dato’ Hasnudin Hamzah, Permanent Representative of Malaysia to ASEAN. They arrived in Melbourne yesterday and will be leaving for Canberra today after a talk on tourism and investment by the Victorian State Government later this afternoon (Wednesday, 28/5/2014). This morning market engagement breakfast session (8 till 9.15am) was attended by the ASEAN CPR together with members of the Victorian government and consular corps in Melbourne. The session saw Hon Peter Walsh, Victorian Minister for Agriculture and Food Security giving a welcoming address that touched on the importance of enhancing further relations between Victoria and the ASEAN nations. Hon Peter also spoke on the upcoming Super Trade Mission to ASEAN especially to Malaysia from 16 till 20 June 2014 that will further reinvigorate business and investments between nations, especially with ASEAN.
