The Sutra Dance Theatre, led by Ramli Ibrahim was in Vienna for the Spellbound Tour from 4-6 September 2008. In addition to scheduled performances on 5 and 6 September 2008 at the Salvator Saal, Vienna , the dance troupe also showcased their dance at the Vienna International Centre, United Nations on 4 September 2008. |

The lunch time performance attracted a crowd of over 100 audiences, consisting of visitors and United Nations Office at Vienna employees from various nationalities. Featuring 7 dancers from a diverse background of ethnicities which embodies Malaysia – Ramli Ibrahim, Guna, January low, Rathimalar, Geethika and Michelle and Divya Nair, the hour-long performance by the dancers enthralled the crowd with their rendition of the ancient temple dance of Odissi. Two segments of dances were performed that afternoon; the first was a tribute to the Goddess of Knowledge and Music, Saraswathy where the gracefulness and subtlety of movements of the dancers captivated the audience. The next segment featured a more vigorous and fast-paced dance which saw Ramli Ibrahim at his best in depicting the Sun God Suria. |
