12 and 15 January 2026 – Mrs. Nurhana Binti Muhammad Ikmal, Chargé d’affaires a.i., paid farewell calls on H.E. Mr. Maximillian Hennig, Chief of Protocol, H.E. Madam Hannah Liko, Director General for Political Affairs, and Mr. Stephan Heisler, Head of Section for Asia, at the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria.
Both sides reaffirmed the enduring bilateral relations between Malaysia and Austria, a partnership that has been established since 1962. Discussions centered on intensifying cooperation across key sectors, including trade, investment, and people-to-people exchange. These efforts align with the Malaysia-ASEAN priorities and Visit Malaysia 2026, fostering deeper cultural and economic integration between Malaysia-Austria, as well as ASEAN-EU.
