Vienna, 11 September - Mr. Mohd Fazli Bin Zakaria, our Science Attaché delivered a statement on the application of safeguards in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) during the IAEA Board of Governors Meeting:
* Expressed Malaysia's grave concern over the DPRK's nuclear programme and the significant increase in its intercontinental ballistic missile tests and launches.
* Called upon all parties involved to work towards deescalating tensions, denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula, and establishing lasting peace and stability.
* Urged DPRK to return to the NPT and take steps toward complete, verifiable, and irreversible nuclear disarmament.
* Strongly urged all Nuclear Weapon States and nuclear-armed States to intensify efforts towards complete disarmament.
