WELCOMING PARTY FOR MR.ISMAIL SALAM, MINISTER COUNSELLOR, EMBASSY AND PERMANENT MISIION OF MALAYSIA, VIENNA, 5 FEBRUARY 2009

A reception to welcome Mr Ismail Salam, the new Minister Counsellor of the Embassy and Permanent Mission of Malaysia was held on 5 February 2009. Also welcomed was the spouse of Mr. Ismail Salam, Ms. Rozita Ismail, as the new Vice President of Perwakilan Vienna. The event was hosted by Dato' M.H. Arshad, Ambassador of Malaysia and Permanent Representative of Malaysia to the United Nations, Vienna at the Embassy in Florido Tower. Over 40 local and home-based staff of the Embassy, as well as Perwakilan Vienna members attended the event.
 
 

Guests were treated to an array of local delicacies, including Ayam Masak Merah, Sambal Tumis Udang, Kari Ikan, Acar Timun, Masak Lemak Ikan as well as cakes and Agar-Agar for desert. The dishes were especially prepared for the event by the local and home-based staff of the Embassy, as well as by Perwakilan Vienna members.

The event started with a short welcoming speech wherein Dato' Arshad introduced Mr. Ismail Salam, followed by Datin Tunku Suraya's introduction of Ms. Rozita Ismail. The guests enjoyed the nice atmosphere and spectacular view of Vienna, while getting to know Mr. Ismail and Ms Rozita. All in all, the evening has indeed allowed the local and home-based staff of the Embassy, not to mention the Perwakilan Vienna members to interact and strengthen their bond of friendship in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
